I’ll be honest—these past six weeks have been really tough for me mentally.

I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety in the past, and lately, they’ve been creeping back in.

Between some ongoing family health issues here in Utah and traveling to Montreal last week to move my grandma into a more intensive care facility, it’s been… a lot.

I don’t want sympathy. I just want to keep it real.

The truth is, I haven’t been coping well. Instead of focusing on what I can control, I’ve been stuck in a cycle of worrying about the things I can’t.

And I see so many people on a weight loss journey do the same thing.

They fixate on the number on the scale instead of the daily actions that actually move the needle—getting to the gym, cooking meals at home, going to bed on time, getting in steps.

It’s easy to spiral when you focus on what you can’t control.

Even when you think you’ve got it all figured out, life has a way of reminding you that it’s unpredictable.

So, how do you handle that emotional storm?

Here’s what I’ve learned (mostly through therapy): you can’t fix the feeling. The only way out is through.

Feel it. As uncomfortable as it is, sit with it.

Write about it. Talk about it. Notice where it shows up in your body. Walk through the feelings with curiosity, not judgment.

For me, my process is simple: I pray. I walk. I talk to my husband.

And today, I’m sharing this with you instead—hoping that in some way, this message reminds you that you’re not alone.

Because no matter where you are or what you’re struggling with—whether it’s fitness, business, or just life—we’re all in this human experience together.

You’re not alone. I’m not alone. We’ve made it through hard times before, and we’ll do it again.

If you ever need to talk, vent, or just share what’s on your mind, I’m here. I read every reply.

No tips or hacks today. Just me, being real, hoping you feel a little lighter knowing we’re in this together.

So today, I’m choosing to do what I know helps—walk, eat well, lift some weights, and hug the people I love.

I hope you do the same.

We got this.
