The Weight Loss Method I Used to Swear By (and Why I Broke Up With It) – 01/13/25

Want to know the method I relied on more than any other, especially when I felt stuck, frustrated, and uncomfortable in my own skin?

It was my go-to whenever I wanted quick weight loss. I kept running back to it every time I failed.

I’m talking about what I now call “The Hate Your Life Method.”

I coined that name today because it perfectly describes what it was like: surviving on sheer willpower, extreme restrictions, and zero enjoyment.

My first experience with this approach started when I was in college the spring of my junior year. I wanted to lose weight rapidly. So I jumped into an extreme plan—no carbs and working out 2 times a day.

And guess what? It “worked” at first. I got some short-term success: lost a few pounds. But then I cracked under the pressure. Back to square one.

My thinking? “I need more discipline. I need a stricter plan.” So I tried a new version of the same old approach—just packaged differently. Once again, short-term success followed by a crash.

This pattern repeated for 3 years. Each time, I thought I was doing something new, but it was actually just the same restrictive approach wearing a different disguise. And every time, I ended up right back where I started.

What changed everything was realizing this method just wasn’t right for me—or anyone, really, if we’re talking about long-term sustainability. Breaking up with this old approach was tough. I felt lost without it at first, but deep down I knew I had to let it go to find true, lasting health, balance, and success.

The Hate Your Life Method shows up in many forms, luring people in with promises of quick fixes. But once you understand the importance of sustainability, personalization, and long-term results, it loses its power.

Instead of relying on sheer willpower and unsustainable extremes, consider this:

What if you embraced a strategy tailored to your body, not a one-size-fits-all plan?

What if you could get toned with balance, enjoyment, and flexibility?

What if you invested in the right guidance to help you figure out what truly works for you?

If you’re ready to break up with that old, exhausting approach and finally find a path that supports long-term body composition change, I can help.

Just send me a direct message on IG (here’s my instagram if you aren’t following me yet). Let’s talk about what a sustainable, personalized plan could look like for you.
