I used to wake up every morning thinking, “I can’t eat until 12pm.”
Now? I wake up excited for the big breakfast I make every single day.
Not too long ago, I was stuck in a routine of fasting for 18 hours a day, avoiding carbs, and working out non-stop.
Guess what? My results were terrible.
I was constantly tired, stressed, my hormones were out of whack, and I wasn’t seeing the progress I wanted. Worse yet, I kept falling off track and having to start all over again.
It’s hard to believe how stuck I was in that mindset. But even more frustrating? I thought I was doing everything right because that’s what I was told would work.
Mentally and physically, I was far from healthy.
So, what changed?
Honestly, I just got fed up. It’s exhausting to constantly worry about my next meal, stick to restrictive rules, and still feel like I wasn’t getting anywhere.
So, I decided to do things differently.
I learned how to properly fuel my body and train smart. I discovered what worked best for my body and my goals. I started seeing real results by focusing on balance instead of restriction and focusing on getting strong instead of trying to be small.
Now, I no longer feel deprived, I’m enjoying my life, and I’m healthier than I’ve ever been—physically and mentally.
I share this as a reminder that if you haven’t found your path yet… it’s okay.
As long as you’re open to trying things a little differently, you’ll find what works for you. And it doesn’t have to involve intense restrictions, burnout, or overworking yourself.
You can (and should) enjoy the process while steadily achieving your health and body composition goals.
