Don’t give up! – 10/03/24

A framed motivational quote on a pink background for inspiration.

This time of year can be challenging for a lot of people when it comes to staying on track with their fitness and nutrition.

It’s not exactly easy to be super consistent when back to school and the holidays throw so many distractions and temptations our way.

I’m saying this after just getting back from a week long vacation that included an anniversary, a birthday, and a wedding!

I’m far from my usual routine. Maybe you’re in a similar boat.

Every now and then, I’ll have a day where I can stick to my plan, make great choices, and stay active…

But honestly, that’s been more of the exception than the rule lately.

And you know what? That’s ok.

There’s actually a lot of value in these less-than-perfect moments.

The key is in how you respond when things aren’t ideal.

Here’s the big question:

Are you using these moments as a reason to stop trying altogether?

When everything seems to be going off the rails, do you decide to just wait until things settle down to get back on track?

If so, I hate to break it to you, but…

That mindset will keep you stuck.

The truth is, when your routine is thrown off, it’s not about being perfect.

It’s not even about being an 8 out of 10 consistent.

It’s about doing what you can, no matter the situation.

Last week when I was on vacation, I enjoyed a couple fancy beers, some indulgent meals, and desserts and didn’t hit my targets at all.

But I still got in my steps every day of the week and managed to fit in a couple quick workouts.

There’s always something you can do, no matter what.

If you can embrace that mindset…

That there’s always something you can do, regardless of the circumstances…

Your success is inevitable.

Hope that helps.
