I have a confession…
I still struggle with a bit of a fear of gaining weight.
I know that sounds strange as a coach who preaches the scale doesn’t matter but hey… I’m a human first, a coach second.
The fear of weight gain is a result of what I was exposed to for a very long time while trying to lose weight.
Not just from various studies that showed that 90% of people who lose weight gain that same weight back and more…
But also what I witnessed growing up.
I witnessed countless cousins, aunts, uncles, parent, and friends lose a large amount of weight to only gain that same weight back and usually more when they could no longer maintain that restrictive diet and excessive amount of activity.
It was etched in my brain that weight gain was inevitable after a fat loss journey.
So it should come as no surprise that my fitness journey was a rollercoaster.
With several bouts of weight loss to weight gain.
I felt AWFUL.
Zero progress. Poor results. Constant stress. Frustrated. Stuck.
I know, it sounds like a blast.
The worst part is that it took me YEARS to recognize that it wasn’t my fault.
I had been led to believe a lie that kept me stuck and frustrated.
The funny thing is… My greatest fear became my greatest strength.
I learned how to gain weight and more specifically muscle.
I learned how to boost my metabolism and noticed way better fat loss results when I incorporated bouts of calories increases, resistance training, and quality sleep into my life.
I got my confidence back. My metabolism back. And my life back.
What I learned is that most people have no idea how important it is to work with your body to lose weight because they assume that weight loss is supposed to be difficult.
The right plan in the right combinations with the right strategy makes all the difference in the world.
The only thing you need to figure out for yourself is…
“What does that look like for ME?”
If that question feels overwhelming, it’s actually super simple.
In fact, I can ask you a few questions and tell you with close to 100% accuracy just how much food you should be eating now, the types of training that will work best for you, and help you build out a personal plan that includes your preferences to help you boost your metabolism so you can ultimately lose body fat.
Even though my irrational fear of weight gain still lingers in the background…
It doesn’t control me because I know how much better I feel when I’m fueling my body with enough food and training appropriately. And our metabolism LOVES proper nutrition and training.
So if you want to learn your own metabolism boosting strategy and the right types of training and nutrition that will improve your metabolism and ultimately your fat loss results…
