Welcome back to Fit Habit Friday #15!!! Hope you’ve had a great week so far 🙂
Thanks for reading! This week I’m dropping super simple ways to crush cravings and a super simple protein hack…
1) MAKE NO FOODS OFF LIMITS
When people restrict foods and entire food groups, they tend to crave those foods more and end up going overboard. When you make no foods off limits and allow yourself to indulge every now and again, you’ll have less cravings!
2) START THE DAY WITH 30+ g OF PROTEIN
Starting the day with 30g or more of protein will keep your hunger at bay and provide your body with the nutrients it needs making craving obsolete.
3) STOP SNACKING
Eat 3-5 complete meals a day. Meals contain a protein source, fiber, starchy carbs, and fats and will keep hunger and cravings at bay. When you eat snack which tend to be carb or fat heavy and low in protein and fiber, your energy levels won’t be stable so you’ll constantly be hungry most of the day and more susceptible to your cravings.
4) UPGRADE YOUR SLEEP
If you aren’t getting 7-9hrs of quality sleep a night, you hunger hormones (leptin & ghrelin) will be out of wack and can cause normal temptations to be unmanageable.
So many people on a fat loss journey struggle with cravings which is why the first phase of my coaching program called “Lifestyle Upgrade” focuses on building a healthy baseline of habits that will not only help boost your metabolism but also help you better manage your cravings cravings.
TLDR: Crush your cravings by not restricting foods, starting the day with 30+g of protein, getting better sleep, and eating real meals throughout the day!
Add a protein shake to your day! Often times people who struggle to get their protein in have a hard time eating more protein from whole foods (meat, eggs, fish, etc.) because whole food protein sources are so satiating. A protein shake is easy to stomach when you’re full and usually has 20-30g of protein and takes little to no time!
TLDR: Add a protein shake to your day 💪🏻
