Welcome back to Fit Habit Friday #9!
Thank you so much for taking to time to read this newsletter! Keep reading to learn why cooking is easier than going out to eat, you shouldn’t train like your favorite athletes, and why I started swimming again…
Going out to eat is soooo much MORE effort than cooking at home! Not only do you have to drive somewhere, but you have to deal with people, put clothes on, and WAIT for your food which can take a long time depending on how many people are at the restaurant! 😂
Yes cooking takes effort, but if you have staples prepped (rice, meat, frozen vegetables, frozen fruit), whipping up dinner should take you less than 10 minutes which could be as long as it take to get to a restaurant!
I definitely enjoy going out to eat, but I prioritize eating at home because it’s cheaper, quicker, and less effort most of the time!
If you struggle with cooking simple, tasty meals at home keep your eyes on your inbox because I have something special coming you way 😉
TLDR: Eating at home is less effort, time, and money and overall better for your health than going out to eat!
I’m sure many of you have been following the olympics! Go team USA 🇺🇸
I hate to break it to many of you, but training like your favorite athlete will not make you perform or look like them. Not only are the athletes genetic freaks (in the most loving way possible 😂), but their training is built specifically for them and their sport!
If you do want to excel at a sport, feel more athletic, and look that way, build a routine based on your goals! That exercise routine should focus on helping you correct your imbalances, practice your sport, get stronger, and incorporate mobility. Need some help? Book a consultation with me here.
TDLR: Don’t follow a professional athlete’s exercise routine, instead work with a coach or trainer who can build a specific routine for you and your goals!
To loss weight and burn more calories? Nope.
It was because I MISSED it!
I had to stop swimming a couple years ago (November 2022) because I was trying to fix my hormone imbalances (amenorrhea).
I wanted to start swimming again this spring, but my shoulder dislocation pushed that starting date back 😅
So I finally jumped in the pool this week and man did I miss it!
Cardio is AMAZING for heart health and if you love it!
Cardio is terrible for fat loss!
That’s why most of my clients do not do any form of cardio apart from walking.
Walking is more sustainable, less stressful on the joints, and a lower barrier of entry for most people especially since most people HATE any form of cardio 😂
TLDR: Cardio is AMAZING for heart health and if you love it, but it SUCKS for fat loss!
